Zündapp Elcona

Straight stitch portable sewing machine.
Flatbed with built-in motor.
I added this machine to my collection in December 2024. Up until now I did not have a machine in my collection that looked like this one. It was advertised on FB marketplace but was over 3 hours’ drive away. I was unable to collect it. Luckily the seller “Helen” took pity on me and was very kind to mention that a friend of hers was coming down to Melbourne prior to Christmas. I am very grateful to Helen and Eileen for all their help in getting this machine to me. It is a beautiful sewing machine and so very, very space age. From what I have read it is more a show pony than a work horse, but that is fine with me, as I have enough work horses.
It came complete with case, accessory tin, cables, foot pedal and instruction book in German. I have uploaded the instruction book to my google drive as a pdf. You can download the manual for free as well as many other sewing machine manuals.

Zundapp and Zündapp Elcona sewing machines.
These machines are not in my collection, here for reference only. There was a Zundapp Elconamatic 3B as well as Zündapp Elcona 2a and Zündapp Elcona 3a. Also a Tula (тчла) machine, it is the Russian copy of the Zundapp. These machines are more common in Europe and I have also read common in Bulgaria.
